Spring is Here! Time to Sell!
Thankfully the Minnesota weather is starting to FINALLLY warm up and spring is here! Many people are planning to sell now that the weather has made a turn for the better. We wanted to give you some tips for getting your home ready.
1.) Spring cleaning and organizing is key! A home that is clean and organized is less distracting and allows potential buyers to envision themselves living in your home.
2.) Finish any outstanding projects or deferred maintenance. When you walk through your home do you see “half-finished” projects, or things you are "planning to take care of"? We all have some of those, but when you are planning on selling it is critical your home is shown in its best possible condition. The last thing you want is a potential buyer walking through counting the projects they will have to complete if they were to purchase your home.
3.) Curb appeal! This could be the most important tip of all. The exterior of your home is what buyers first see. Whether buyers see photos of the home online or they drive by, it’s the first impression and it's critical that it be a positive one. Be sure to keep the lawn looking fresh, some colorful flowers, and all exterior maintenance is up to date prior to putting your home on the market.
4.) Consult with a local Real Estate professional. A good Real Estate agent will have insight into the most important, and cost-effective repairs that will bring the most return on investment, as well as help your home sell faster. A well-versed agent will have access to a stager, handyman, and subcontractors who can help complete projects if needed.
